Spencer Galvan has been teaching for 13 years and is currently Assistant Professor of Spanish and the Spanish Discipline Lead at St. Philip's College. She also teaches Humanities, Mexican-American Fine Arts Appreciation, and Education courses at SPC and is a member of an extended reality research team aimed at multidisciplinary integration of VR and AR in the classroom. A graduate of Schreiner University and Texas Tech University, Spencer has dedicated years to researching language learning and educational best practices and has a passion for using scavenger hunts, experiential learning, service learning, games, competitions, technology, and virtual reality in the classroom. She has lived in Texas and Spain, and has spent time traveling in the U.S., Spain, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama, Italy, and France. She runs a farm in south Texas with her loving husband and children.
